In what context are you using the word fiscal?

What is a fiscal representative?
Someone who can talk to any government authority or other body concerned with these financial and bureaucratic matters. If you are a non-resident property owner, you are legally required to appoint a fiscal representative.

I'm not resident - does this concern me?
If you have any financial interests in Tenerife it is law you have a fiscal representative, even if you have declared your taxation obligations in your home country, you must have an official resident of Tenerife able to be contacted and represent your interests.

Why would I need contacting if I do not live in Tenerife ?

Would I need a fiscal representative if I am a resident of Tenerife ?
No you do not, you can represent yourself. However, because of the enormous amount of paperwork involved in operating legally in Tenerife, and if not a native, sometimes the language difficulties, things very often get confused and problems start to occur. Even native Canarian and Spanish speaking people often use a representative to deal with authorities such as the Social Security department and Tax offices.

Which people can be a fiscal representative ?
Any legal resident of Spain. However unless this person is versed in dealing with authorities you may have dealings with, it is best to use, Accountant - Management Company - Lawyer - Asesoria Fiscal. By using one of these people, any problems you incur can be dealt with

Is paying my obligations going to cost me much ?
If you have not made a profit from a business/property, you will not pay tax. If you have made a profit, you will pay tax, but a good accountant should be able to minimise your taxes. Accountants fees vary depending on the work they are doing for you, but an honest accountant here will cost less than in most parts of Europe.
