The Canarian archipelago consists of seven islands. Tenerife is the largest of the
Canary Islands and is centrally dominated by Mount Teide. This extinct volcano is
the highest point in Spain.
The archipelago is 200 km west of the North African coast.
Some 2000 miles due south of the UK, it enjoys an almost perfect climate.
Historically, a popular stop over for ships sailing to the Americas.
